Date:  Jan 4 2018
Impact:   Disclosure of system information, Disclosure of user information, Execution of arbitrary code via network, User access via network
Fix Available:  Yes  Vendor Confirmed:  Yes

Description:   Multiple vulnerabilities were reported in Microsoft Edge. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system. A remote user can bypass cross-domain security controls on the target system. A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger an object memory handling error and execute arbitrary code on the target user's system [CVE-2018-0758, CVE-2018-0768, CVE-2018-0769, CVE-2018-0770, CVE-2018-0773, CVE-2018-0774, CVE-2018-0775, CVE-2018-0776, CVE-2018-0777, CVE-2018-0778, CVE-2018-0781].

A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger an object memory handling error and access potentially sensitive information on the target system [CVE-2018-0767, CVE-2018-0780, CVE-2018-0800].

A remote user can bypass cross-domain security policies on the target system to access information from another domain [CVE-2018-0803].

A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger an object memory handling error in the Microsoft Edge PDF Reader and access potentially sensitive information on the target system [CVE-2018-0766].

A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger an object memory handling error and execute arbitrary code on the target user's system [CVE-2018-0762, CVE-2018-0772]. This can also be exploited via an ActiveX control marked "safe for initialization" in an application or Microsoft Office document that hosts the browser rendering engine.

Wei of Qihoo 360 Vulcan Team, Lokihardt of Google Project Zero, Joshua Graham with TSS, Johnathan Norman of Windows Devices Group - Operating System Security Team, 010 (via Trend Micro's Zero Day Initiative), Tao Yan (@Ga1ois) of Palo Alto Networks, and Anonymous (via Trend Micro's Zero Day Initiative) reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A remote user can create content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.

A remote user can bypass cross-domain security controls on the target system to access information from another domain.

A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
