Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco NX-OS. A local user can bypass security restrictions.

A local user can exploit a signature verification flaw for NX-OS software patches to bypass security controls and load a specially crafted unsigned patch on the target system.

The following Nexus series devices are affected:

7000 Series Switches
7700 Series Switches

The vendor has assigned bug IDs CSCvf16494 and CSCvf23655 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user can bypass software patch signature verification on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
