Description:   A vulnerability was reported in EMC Unisphere for VMAX Virtual Appliance. A remote user can gain access to the target system.

A remote user can supply specially crafted AMF messages to the target vApp Manager servlet to bypass authentication and create new user accounts with administrative privileges.

rgod (via Trend Micro's Zero Day Initiative (ZDI)) reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can gain administrative access to the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (Advisory ESA-2017-137; Unisphere for VMAX Virtual Appliance 8.3.0.10 ISO upgrade hotfix 1083 Service Alert 1053, 8.3.0.10 OVA hotfix 1084 Service Alert 1054, 8.4.0.15 OVA, 8.4.0.15 ISO).
