Description:   A vulnerability was reported in F5 BIG-IP on VIPRION platforms. A local user can obtain passwords on the target system.

The '/usr/bin/safenet-sync.sh' script to synchronize SafeNet External Network hardware security module (HSM) configuration elements between blades in a clustered deployment writes the HSM partition password in cleartext to the '/var/log/ltm' log file. A local user with privileges to view the log file can obtain the password.

The vendor has assigned ID 580026 to this vulnerability.

F5 BIG-IP running on VIPRION platforms is affected.

Impact:   A local user with privileges to view the log file can obtain the SafeNet External Network HSM password on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
