Vendor Confirmed:  Yes

Description:   Several vulnerabilities were reported in BMC Remedy IT Service Management Suite. A remote authenticated user can execute arbitrary code on the target system. A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

A remote authenticated user with privileges to create reports can send specially crafted data to trigger a flaw in the 'birt' report engine templating function and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user can send a specially crafted request to cause the target 'birt' report engine to include and execute arbitrary files from a remote location or from the target system.

The software does not properly filter HTML code from user-supplied input before displaying the input. A remote user can cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser. The code will originate from the site running the BMC Remedy IT Service Management Suite software and will run in the security context of that site. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

A remote user can send a specially crafted request to include a non-existent file to view the installation path via an error message on the target system.

A remote user can send a specially crafted request to view potentially sensitive information in the system logs on the target system.

A remote user can send a specially crafted request to view the session token in HTTP responses from the target system.
