Description:   A vulnerability was reported in EMC NetWorker. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user can send specially crafted data to trigger a buffer overflow in the EMC NetWorker Server service (nsrd) and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target service.

Aaron Portnoy of Exodus Intelligence reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (8.2.4.9, 9.1.1.3, 9.2.0.4; Advisory ESA-2017-122).
