Description:   Two vulnerabilities were reported in Microsoft Outlook. A remote user can cause arbitrary commands to be executed on the target user's system. A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

A remote user can create a specially crafted file that, when loaded and interacted with by the target user, will bypass a security feature and execute arbitrary commands on the target system [CVE-2017-11774]. The commands will run with the privileges of the target user.

The software may fail to establish a secure connection [CVE-2017-11776]. A remote user that can monitor the network can obtain the email content of the target user.

Etienne Stalmans of SensePost, Florian Gattermeier and Heinrich Wiederkehr of ERNW GmbH, and Simon Hofer and Stefan Viehbock of SEC Consult Vulnerability Lab reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A remote user can create content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary commands on the target user's system.

A remote user that can monitor the network can obtain the email content of the target user.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
