Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco IOS on Cisco Catalyst 6800 Series Switches. A remote user can cause the target line card to crash.

A remote user on the local network can create a large number of Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) generated MAC entries in the MAC address table on the target device to trigger a memory management error and cause the target line card to crash.

C6800-16P10G or C6800-16P10G-XL type line cards are affected.

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCva61927 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target line card to crash.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
