Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco IOS/IOS XE. A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

A remote user that can conduct a man-in-the-middle attack can send a specially crafted certificate to trigger a certificate validation error in the Cisco Network Plug and Play (PNP) application and access potentially sensitive user information communicated by the target system.

Systems configured with PNP application enabled are affected.

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCvc33171 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user that can conduct a man-in-the-middle attack can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
