Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco IOS XE. A remote user can bypass authentication.

A remote user with an x tunnel router can send specially crafted map-registration requests to trigger an input validation flaw in the Locator/ID Separation Protocol (LISP) implementation and bypass authentication in registering an Endpoint Identifier (EID) to a Routing Locator (RLOC) in the map server/map resolver (MS/MR). This can be exploited to inject invalid mappings of EIDs to RLOCs.

Systems configured with LISP are affected.

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCvc18008 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can bypass authentication to inject invalid mappings of EIDs to RLOCs in the target map server/map resolver.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
