Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Xen. A local user on the guest system can gain elevated privileges on the host system. A local user on the guest system can cause the host system to crash.

A local user on an x86 PV guest system can exploit a flaw in grant unmapping to gain elevated privileges on the host system or cause the hypervisor to crash.

Andrew Cooper of Citrix reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user on the guest system can gain elevated privileges on the host system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (xsa234-4.5.patch, xsa234-4.6.patch, xsa234-4.8.patch, xsa234-4.9.patch, and xsa234.patch).
