Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Apache Subversion. A remote authenticated user can gain access to the target realm.

A remote authenticated user can supply a specially crafted realm string to svnserve to trigger a flaw in the Cyrus SASL library and authenticate to a different realm. A specially crafted realm string that is a prefix of the target realm string.

mod_dav_svn is not affected.

Daniel Shahaf of Apache Infrastructure and James McCoy of Debian reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote authenticated user can gain access to the target realm.
Solution:   Ubuntu has issued a fix.
