Description:
Multiple vulnerabilities were reported in Microsoft Edge. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system. A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target user's system. A remote user can bypass a security feature on the target user's system.
A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger an object memory handling error in the JavaScript engine and execute arbitrary code on the target user's system [CVE-2017-8634, CVE-2017-8635, CVE-2017-8636, CVE-2017-8638, CVE-2017-8639, CVE-2017-8640, CVE-2017-8641, CVE-2017-8645, CVE-2017-8646, CVE-2017-8647, CVE-2017-8653, CVE-2017-8655, CVE-2017-8656, CVE-2017-8657, CVE-2017-8658, CVE-2017-8661, CVE-2017-8669, CVE-2017-8670, CVE-2017-8671, CVE-2017-8672, CVE-2017-8674].
These vulnerabilities can also be exploited via an embedded ActiveX control marked as "safe for initialization".
A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will bypass the Arbitrary Code Guard (ACG) security feature in the browser's Just-In-Time (JIT) compiler [CVE-2017-8637].
A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger an object memory handling flaw in the Chakra scripting engine and access potentially sensitive information on the target user's system [CVE-2017-8659].
Hao Linan of Qihoo 360 Vulcan Team, Lokihart of Google Project Zero, Huang Anwen, He Xiaoxiao ichunqiu Ker Team, Anonymous (via Trend Micro's Zero Day Initiative), Natalie Silvanovich of Google Project Zero, and Ivan Fratric of Google Project Zero reported these vulnerabilities.
|
Impact:
A remote user can create content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code, bypass a security feature, or access potentially sensitive information on the target user's system.
