Description:   A vulnerability was reported in VMware vCenter Server. A remote authenticated user can gain access to the target guest system.

A remote authenticated vSphere user with limited privileges can use the VMware VIX API Direct Access function to bypass authentication and can gain access to the target guest system.

Systems configured with all of the following settings are affected:

- "Virtual Machine -> Configuration -> Advanced" configuration

- "Virtual Machine -> Interaction -> Guest Operating System Management by VIX API" configuration

- "Host -> Configuration -> Advanced Settings" configuration

Ofri Ziv and Itamar Tal of Guardicore reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote authenticated vSphere user with limited privileges can gain access to the target guest system.
