Description:   Multiple vulnerabilities were reported in Mozilla Firefox. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system. A local user can modify files on the target system. A remote user can obtain files on the target system. A remote user can spoof the address bar. Mozilla Thunderbird is affected.

A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.

A use-after-free memory error may occur in the frameloader during tree reconstruction when regenerating CSS layout and attempting to use a node in the tree that no longer exists [CVE-2017-5472].

A use-after-free memory error may occur when using an incorrect URL during the reloading of a docshell [CVE-2017-7749].

A use-after-free memory error may occur during video control operations with 'track' elements [CVE-2017-7750].

A use-after-free memory error may occur with content viewer listeners [CVE-2017-7751].

A use-after-free memory error may occur during specific user interactions with the input method editor (IME) [CVE-2017-7752].

A use-after-free and use-after-scope memory error may occur when logging errors from headers for XML HTTP Requests (XHR) [CVE-2017-7756].

A use-after-free memory error may occur in IndexedDB [CVE-2017-7757].

Out-of-bounds memory read errors, buffer overflow read and write errors, and uninitialized memory errors may occur in the Graphite 2 library [CVE-2017-7778].

An out-of-bounds read error may occur in WebGL when processing a specially crafted ImageInfo object [CVE-2017-7754].

A local user can invoke the Mozilla Maintenance Service to read 32 bytes of arbitrary files on the target system [CVE-2017-7768]. Windows-based systems are affected.

The Firefox installer on Windows may load malicious DLL files stored in the same directory as the installer when the installer is executed [CVE-2017-7755].

An out-of-bounds read error may occur in the Opus encoder [CVE-2017-7758].

A remote user can use Android intent URLs to navigate from an HTTP or HTTPS URL to a local 'file:' URL to bypass same origin policy [CVE-2017-7759]. Android-based systems are affected.

A remote user can use some Tibetan characters that render as whitespace to spoof the address bar [CVE-2017-7763]. macOS-based systems are affected.

A remote user can use 'Canadian Syllabics' unicode block characters to spoof the domain name in the address bar [CVE-2017-7764].

A remote user can supply a specially crafted (long) filename to bypass the 'Mark of the Web' security warning on executable files [CVE-2017-7765]. Windows-based systems are affected.

A local user can invoke the Mozilla Maintenance Service to delete or execute arbitrary files on the target system [CVE-2017-7766]. Windows-based systems are affected.

A local user can invoke the Mozilla Maintenance Service via the Mozilla Windows Updater to overwrite arbitrary files on the target system [CVE-2017-7767]. Windows-based systems are affected.

A remote user can spoof the address bar when in full-screen mode [CVE-2017-7770]. Android-based systems are affected.

Other memory corruption errors may occur [CVE-2017-5470, CVE-2017-5471].

Solution:   Ubuntu has issued a fix for CVE-2017-5470, CVE-2017-5472, CVE-2017-7749, CVE-2017-7750, CVE-2017-7751, CVE-2017-7752, CVE-2017-7754, CVE-2017-7756, CVE-2017-7757, CVE-2017-7758, CVE-2017-7764, CVE-2017-7771, CVE-2017-7772, CVE-2017-7773, CVE-2017-7774, CVE-2017-7775, CVE-2017-7776, CVE-2017-7777, and CVE-2017-7778 for Mozilla Thunderbird.
