Description:   Two vulnerabilities were reported in Tenable Nessus. A local user can cause denial of service conditions on the target application. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

A local user can exploit an insecure permissions flaw to prevent the agent from conducting scans.

A local user can exploit an insecure permissions flaw to gain administrative privileges on the target system hosting the Nessus agent.

The vendor was notified on April 5, 2017.

Impact:   A local user can prevent the agent from conducting scans.

A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (6.10.5).
