Description:   A vulnerability was reported in EMC RecoverPoint. A remote user can conduct a man-in-the-middle attack to access and modify data communicated by the target system.

A remote user that can conduct a man-in-the-middle attack can conduct an SSL stripping attack to cause the target Unisphere for RecoverPoint browser to use non-secure communications instead of SSL when sending information including login credentials.

Mike Erman, Jack Baker, and Joshua Burbrink from Northrop Grumman reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user that can conduct a man-in-the-middle attack can access and modify data communicated by the target system, including login credentials.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (5.0; Advisory ESA-2017-010).
