Description:   A vulnerability was reported in NetIQ Access Manager. A remote authenticated user administrative user can obtain files on the target system.

A remote authenticated administrative user can supply a specially crafted URL to exploit a directory traversal flaw and download arbitrary files on the target Admin Console host system.

A demonstration exploit URL is provided:

https://[target]:8443/roma/system/cntl?handler=staging&actionCmd=download&stagingfile=../../../../../../../../../../etc/passwd

Impact:   A remote authenticated administrative user can obtain arbitrary files on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (4.2.3).
