Description:   A vulnerability was reported in CA Common Services. A local user can obtain root privileges on the target system.

A local user can exploit an input validation flaw in 'casrvc' to modify arbitrary files on the target system and gain root privileges.

The following products are affected:

CA Client Automation
CA Systems Performance for Infrastructure Managers
CA Universal Job Management Agent
CA Virtual Assurance for Infrastructure Managers
CA Workload Automation AE

Craig Blackie, NCC Group, reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user can obtain root privileges on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (RO93360).
