CVE Reference:   CVE-2016-0282, CVE-2016-2938, CVE-2016-2939, CVE-2016-5880, CVE-2016-5882, CVE-2016-5884, CVE-2016-6113   (Links to External Site)
Date:  Dec 2 2016
Impact:   Disclosure of authentication information, Disclosure of user information, Execution of arbitrary code via network, Modification of user information
Fix Available:  Yes  Vendor Confirmed:  Yes
Version(s): 8.5, 9.0
Description:   Multiple vulnerabilities were reported in IBM iNotes and Domino. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

The software does not properly filter HTML code from user-supplied input before displaying the input. A remote user can cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser. The code will originate from the site running the IBM Lotus Notes and Domino software and will run in the security context of that site. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

The vendor has assigned SPRs KLYHAAHNUS [CVE-2016-0282], YGYGA9DDX2 [CVE-2016-5880], BCOEA8PQSP [CVE-2016-2939], YGYGA9DDTA [CVE-2016-5882], MLATAAR5A6 [CVE-2016-6113], YGYGA9DDH6 [CVE-2016-5884], BCOEA8PR8G [CVE-2016-2938], and BCOEA8PQS9 [CVE-2016-2939] to these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A remote user can access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site running the IBM Lotus Notes and Domino software, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.
Solution:   IBM has issued a fix (8.5.3 Fix Pack 6 Interim Fix 15, 9.0.1 Fix Pack 7 Interim Fix 1).
