Description:   Two vulnerabilities were reported in VMware vCenter Server. A remote user can conduct XML external entity attacks to obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote authenticated user can supply specially crafted XML External Entity (XXE) data to the target Log Browser, Distributed Switch setup, and Content Library functions to obtain potentially sensitive information [CVE-2016-7459].

A remote user can supply specially crafted XML External Entity (XXE) data to the target Single Sign-On function to obtain potentially sensitive information from the target system or cause denial of service conditions [CVE-2016-7460].

Vladimir Ivanov, Andrey Evlanin, Mikhail Stepankin, Artem Kondratenko, and Arseniy Sharoglazov of Positive Technologies reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A remote user can potentially sensitive information from the target system.

A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (5.5 U3e, 6.0 U2a).
