Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Norton Anti-Virus. A local user can gain system privileges on the target system.

The software may load certain DLLs without properly restricting the path. A local user can create a specially crafted DLL to cause arbitrary code to be executed by the target Symantec application. During installation or uninstallation processes, the code will run with system privileges.

Herman Groeneveld (Sh4d0wman) of firstlink.nl reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user can obtain system privileges on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (NGC 22.7), available via Live Update.
