Description:   Several vulnerabilities were reported in Norton Mobile Security for Android. A remote user can cause the target application to crash. A remote user can bypass whitelist security controls on the target system. A physically local user can obtain potentially sensitive information.

A remote user that can conduct a man-in-the-middle attack can inject specially crafted JavaScript to cause the target application to crash [CVE-2016-6585].

A remote user that can conduct a man-in-the-middle attack can inject specially crafted JavaScript to add arbitrary URLs to the URL whitelist [CVE-2016-6586].

A physically local user can obtain potentially sensitive information from the encrypted Norton Mobile Security for Android 'mid.dat' file stored on the SD card [CVE-2016-6587].

An anonymous researcher reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target application to crash.

A remote user can add arbitrary URLs to the URL whitelist.

A physically local user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
