Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco ASR 5500 Series Routers. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system.

A remote user can send specially crafted IPv4 or IPv6 fragmented packets to trigger a flaw in the Slowpath of StarOS for ASR 5500 Series devices with Data Processing Card 2 (DPC2) and cause an instance of the sessmgr service to reload and a subset of subscriber sessions to be disconnected.

Cisco ASR 5500 devices with DPC2 running StarOS 18.0 or later are affected.

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCvb12081 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause a subset of subscriber sessions to be disconnected.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
