Description:   A vulnerability was reported in VMware Tools. A local user can bypass security controls on the target system.

A local privileged user can obtain kernel memory address information to bypass address space layout randomization (ASLR) security protections on the target system.

Systems with System Integrity Protection (SIP) enabled are affected.

Marco Grassi (@marcograss) of KeenLab (@keen_lab), Tencent, reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user can bypass ASLR protections on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (VMware Tools 10.1.0).
