Description:   A vulnerability was reported in EMC Replication Manager. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user acting as a Replication Manager (RM) server can connect to the target RM client and cause the client to load a specially crafted file from an SMB share and execute arbitrary code contained in the file.

EMC Network Module for Microsoft version 3.x and EMC Networker Module for Microsoft version 8.2.x are also affected.

Felix Wilhelm, ERNW Research, reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (5.5.3.0_01-PatchHotfix; Advisory ESA-2016-063).
