Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco IOS XR for Carrier Routing System. A remote user can cause the target service to crash.

A remote user can send specially crafted OSPFv3 packets to trigger a logic error and cause the target OSPFv3 process to restart on the target device. As a result, data traffic relying on the OSPF exchanged routes may be adversely affected.

Cisco 64-bit releases of IOS XR for Cisco NCS6000 series devices are affected.

Systems configured to process OSPFv3 are affected.

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCuz66289 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target OSPFv3 service to reload.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
