Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Xen. A local user on the guest system can gain elevated privileges on the host system.

A local administrative user on a 32-bit PV guest system can exploit a flaw in the L3 pagetable entry recursion code in the 64-bit hypervisor running on x86 hardware to gain elevated privileges on the host system.

Jeremie Boutoille of Quarkslab and Shangcong Luan of Alibaba Cloud separately reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local administrative user on the guest system can gain elevated privileges on the host system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (xsa185.patch).
