Date:  Sep 3 2016
Impact:   Disclosure of authentication information, Disclosure of user information, Execution of arbitrary code via network, Modification of system information, Modification of user information, User access via network
Fix Available:  Yes  Vendor Confirmed:  Yes

Description:   Multiple vulnerabilities were reported in Google Chrome. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system. A remote user can bypass security controls on the target system. A remote user can spoof URLs. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

A remote user can create specially crafted content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.

A use-after-free may occur in Blink [CVE-2016-5150], PDFium [CVE-2016-5151], and event bindings [CVE-2016-5156].

A use-after-destruction error may occur in Blink [CVE-2016-5153].

A heap overflow may occur in PDFium [CVE-2016-5152, CVE-2016-5154, CVE-2016-5157, CVE-2016-5158, CVE-2016-5159].

A type confusion error may occur in Blink [CVE-2016-5161].

A remote user can spoof the address bar [CVE-2016-5155, CVE-2016-5163].

A remote user can exploit a flaw in the 'Save Page As' function to conduct an SMB relay attack [CVE-2016-5166].

A remote user can bypass security to access ostensibly restricted resource [CVE-2016-5160, CVE-2016-5162].

The software does not properly filter HTML code from user-supplied input before displaying the input [CVE-2016-5147, CVE-2016-5148, CVE-2016-5149, CVE-2016-5164, CVE-2016-5165]. A remote user can cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser. The code will originate from the target site and will run in the security context of that site. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

Other errors may occur [CVE-2016-5167].

anonymous, Max Justicz (http://web.mit.edu/maxj/www/), Gregory Panakkal, @l33terally, FogMarks.com (@FogMarks), Rafay Baloch PTCL Etisalat (http://rafayhackingarticles.net), GiWan Go of Stealien, Atte Kettunen of OUSPG, jinmo123, 62600BCA031B9EB5CB4A74ADDDD6771E (via Trend Micro's Zero Day Initiative), and Nicolas Golubovic reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can create content that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.

A remote user can bypass security controls on the target system.

A remote user can spoof a URL.

A remote user can access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the target site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (53.0.2785.89 for Windows, Mac; 53.0.2785.92 for Linux).
