Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Perl. A remote user can bypass security controls on the target system. HPE NonStop Server is affected.

The File::Spec::canonpath() in PathTools does not preserve the taint attribute. A user may be able to create a specially crafted value to bypass the taint protection mechanism.

PathTools is included in Perl.

David Golden reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user may be able to bypass the taint protection mechanism.
Solution:   HP has issued a fix for HPE NonStop Server.
