Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco ASA. A remote user can cause the target system to reload or execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user with knowledge of the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) community string can send specially crafted SNMP packets via IPv4 to the target system to trigger a buffer overflow and cause the target system to reload or execute arbitrary code.

The following hardware devices may also be affected when running ASA software:

Cisco ASA Services Module for Cisco Catalyst 6500 Series Switches and Cisco 7600 Series Routers
Cisco ASA 1000V Cloud Firewall
Cisco Adaptive Security Virtual Appliance (ASAv)
Cisco Firepower 9300 ASA Security Module
Cisco PIX Firewalls
Cisco Firewall Services Module (FWSM)

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCva92151 to this vulnerability.

Shadow Brokers reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target system to reload.

A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
