Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco ASR 9001 Router. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system.

A remote user can send specially crafted fragmented IPv4 or IPv6 packets to the unicast address of any configured interface on the target device to trigger a memory leak on the target route processor and cause the device to drop all control-plane protocols and deny service.

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCux26791 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause all control-plane protocols to be dropped.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (5.3.3). Software Maintenance Updates (SMUs) are also available for prior affected versions.
