Description:   Two vulnerabilities were reported in IBM DB2 LUW. A local user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system. A local user can obtain root privileges on the target system.

A local user can exploit a flaw in the IBM General Parallel File System (GPFS) to gain elevated privileges or cause denial of service conditions on the target system in certain cases [CVE-2016-0263].

A local user can exploit a flaw in the IBM GPFS to inject commands into set user id (setuid) root file parameters to execute arbitrary commands on the target system with root privileges [CVE-2016-0392]. John Fitzpatrick at MWR InfoSecurity reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system.

A local user can obtain root privileges on the target system.

Solution:   IBM has issued a fix.
