Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Norton Security. A remote user can cause the target system to crash.

A remote user can create a specially crafted portable-executable (PE) file that, when downloaded by the target system and manipulated on the target system, will trigger a kernel-level memory corruption error in the Client Intrusion Detection System (CIDS) driver and cause the target system to crash.

Piotr Bania of Cisco Talos reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target system to crash.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (CIDS 15.1.2), available via LiveUpdate.
