Description:   Two vulnerabilities were reported in Apple macOS mDNSResponder. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user can send specially crafted data to trigger a buffer overflow and deny service or execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2015-7987]. The GetValueForIPv4Addr(), GetValueForMACAddr(), rfc3110_import(), and CopyNSEC3ResourceRecord() functions are affected.

A remote user can send specially crafted data to trigger a null pointer dereference in handle_regservice_request() and execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2015-7988].

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (mDNSResponder 625.41.2; included within macOS 10.11.1, 10.10.5 with Security Update 2015-004, 10.9.5 with Security Update 2015-007).
