Description:   Several vulnerabilities were reported in Squid. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system. A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

A remote user can return specially crafted Edge Side Includes (ESI) responses to trigger a buffer overflow and cause denial of service conditions or execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2016-4052, CVE-2016-4054].

A remote user can return specially crafted ESI responses to trigger an input validation flaw and view potentially sensitive information on the target system [CVE-2016-4053].

CESG reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

Solution:   Ubuntu has issued a fix.
