Description:   Several vulnerabilities were reported in Wireshark. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system.

A remote user can send specially crafted data to cause the target service to enter an infinite loop and consume excessive CPU resources.

The SPOOLS dissector is affected.

The WBXML dissector is affected. Versions 1.12.x are affected.

A remote user can send specially crafted data to cause the target service to crash.

The IEEE 802.11 dissector is affected. Versions 2.0.x are affected.

The UMTS FP dissector is affected.

Some USB dissectors are affected.

The Toshiba file parser is affected.

The CoSine file parser is affected.

The NetScreen file parser is affected.

The Ethernet dissector is affected.

The CESG, Chris Benedict and Aurelien Delaitre of the NIST SAMATE Project, Mateusz Jurczyk, and iDefense Labs reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A remote user can cause excessive CPU consumption on the target system.

A remote user can cause the target service to crash.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (1.12.12, 2.0.4).
