Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Apache ActiveMQ. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user can send specially crafted data to execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target service.

Simon Zuckerbraun and Andrea Micalizzi (rgod) of Trend Micro Zero Day Initiative separately reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has described a workaround.

[Editor's note: The vendor plans to remove the vulnerable fileserver component in the future version 5.14.0.]
