Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Xen. A local user on the guest system can cause denial of service conditions on the guest system. Citrix XenServer is affected.

A local user on an HVM guest system can trigger a flaw in vmx_vmexit_handler() in the processing of certain instruction pointers and cause the guest system to crash.

Intel or Cyrix CPU based systems are affected.

ARM and AMD systems are not affected.

Ling Liu of Qihoo 360 Inc. reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user on the guest system can cause the guest system to crash.
Solution:   Citrix has issued a hotfix for CVE-2016-2271 for Citrix XenServer.
