Description:   A vulnerability was reported in EMC Unisphere for VMAX Virtual Appliance. A remote user can upload files to the target system.

A remote user can exploit a flaw in an HTTP servlet in vApp Manager to upload arbitrary files to arbitrary paths on the target system with root privileges. As a result the remote user can gain root access to the target system.

Travis Emmert of Salesforce.com reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can upload arbitrary files to arbitrary paths with root privileges to the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (Unisphere for VMAX Virtual Appliance 8.2.0; Advisory ESA-2016-036).
