Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Asterisk. A remote authenticated user can cause the target service to crash.

A remote authenticated user can submit a REGISTER request with a Contact header containing a specially crafted URI to cause the target Asterisk service to crash.

Systems using PJSIP as the SIP stack are affected.

The chan_sip module is not affected.

Impact:   A remote authenticated user can cause the target service to crash.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (13.8.1; 13.1-cert5).
