Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco Cable Modem. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user can send specially crafted HTTP requests to trigger a buffer overflow in the web interface and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The following models are affected:

Cisco Cable Modem with Digital Voice Model DPC2203
Cisco Cable Modem with Digital Voice Model EPC2203

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCuv05935 to this vulnerability.

Chris Watts of Tech Analysis reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
