Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Xen. A local user on the guest system can cause denial of service conditions on the host system.

A local user on the guest system can force an INVVPID instruction on a non-canonical address to trigger a hypervisor bug check and cause the host system to crash.

Systems with Intel or Cyrix CPUs are affected.

Users on HVM guests using shadow mode paging can exploit this flaw.

Jan Beulich of SUSE reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user on the guest system can cause the host system to crash.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (xsa168.patch).
