Description:   Two vulnerabilities were reported in Trend Micro Antivirus. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system. A remote user can obtain passwords on the target system.

A remote user can create specially crafted HTML that, when loaded by the target user, will access an API on the localhost interface and obtain passwords or execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.

The vulnerability resides in the Trend Micro Password Manager component.

Tavis Ormandy of Google Security Research reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can create HTML that, when loaded by the target user, will access passwords from or execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix via ActiveUpdate on January 11, 2016.
