Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco ASR 1000 Series Routers. A local user can bypass license restrictions.

A local user can on the the command-line interface can supply a specially crafted file name for loading of software packages to bypass license restrictions and gain root shell access without the proper license.

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCuv93130 to this vulnerability.

[Editor's note: On December 3, 2015, the vendor released an advisory for Cisco IOS XE describing a similar vulnerability and assigning the same Cisco Bug ID number and CVE number (see Alert ID 1034296). As of December 5, 2015, the vendor advisory for Cisco ASR 1000 Series Routers was no longer available on the vendor's web site.]

Impact:   A local user can bypass license restrictions on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
