Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Windows Winsock. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

A local user can run a specially crafted application that makes a call via Winsock to an invalid memory address to gain elevated privileges.

Alex Ionescu of Winsider Seminars & Solutions Inc. and Thomas Faber of CrowdStrike Inc. reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
