Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Cisco Email Security Appliance. A remote user can consume excessive memory on the target system.

The email message filtering feature of Cisco AsyncOS does not properly validate email attachments that contain corrupted fields. A remote user can send a specially crafted email with an attachment to consume excessive memory on the target device until the filtering process restarts, causing the target device to become unavailable.

The vendor has assigned bug ID CSCuv47151 to this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can consume excessive memory resources on the target device, causing the device to become unavailable.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (8.5.7-043, 9.1.1-023, 9.6.0-046).
