Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Glibc. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system. IBM Security Network IPS is affected.

The nss_files database for the Name Service Switch (NSS) does not properly handle lookups that occur in the middle of iterations and may reset the file pointer during the iteration. A remote or local user can cause the target application to enter an infinite loop.

The Samba application is affected.

Robin Hack of Red Hat reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the target application to enter an infinite loop.
Solution:   IBM has issued a fix for IBM Security Network IPS.
