Description:
Multiple vulnerabilities were reported in Microsoft SharePoint. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks. A remote authenticated user can conduct XML DTD attacks to obtain files on the target system.
The Office Web Apps Server [CVE-2015-6037] and Office Marketplace [CVE-2015-6039] does not properly filter HTML code from user-supplied input before displaying the input. A remote user can cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser. The code will originate from the site running the Office Web Apps Server and will run in the security context of that site. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.
A remote authenticated user with write permissions on the target site can supply specially crafted XML DTD file to the target interface to read files on the target system with the privileges of the target service [CVE-2015-2556]. Systems with InfoPath Services enabled are affected.
The following Microsoft SharePoint components are affected:
Excel Services on Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007
Excel Services on Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, Microsoft Web App 2010, Microsoft Excel Web App 2010
Excel Services on Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013, Microsoft Office Web Apps Server 2013
Microsoft SharePoint Server 2007
Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010
Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013, Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2013
Jakub Palaczynski of ING Services Polska reported the information disclosure vulnerability.
|
Impact:
A remote user can access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site running the Office Web Apps Server or Office Marketplace software, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.
A remote user can read files on the target system with the privileges of the target service.
