CVE Reference:   CVE-2015-6057, CVE-2015-6058   (Links to External Site)
Date:  Oct 13 2015
Impact:   Disclosure of authentication information, Disclosure of system information, Disclosure of user information, Execution of arbitrary code via network, Modification of user information
Fix Available:  Yes  Vendor Confirmed:  Yes

Description:   Two vulnerabilities were reported in Microsoft Edge. A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks.

A remote user can send a specially crafted request to trigger an object memory handling flaw and view portions of memory on the target system [CVE-2015-6057].

The software does not properly disable an HTML attribute in HTTP response data. A remote user can cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser [CVE-2015-6058]. The code may run in the wrong security context. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the target site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

Mario Heiderich of Cure53 reported the information disclosure vulnerability.
